Today, Inter Miami CF made an announcement regarding the acquisition of a 2024 International Roster Slot from D.C. United. This transaction involved the exchange of defender Christopher McVey. Additionally, as part of the deal, Inter Miami CF stands to gain up to $100,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) contingent upon McVey achieving specific performance metrics.

Chris Henderson, the Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director, expressed gratitude for McVey's contributions, highlighting his reliability and value to the team. Henderson acknowledged McVey's pivotal role in the club's historic achievement of winning their first title last year. While parting ways, Inter Miami CF extended well wishes to McVey for his future endeavors.

McVey became a part of Inter Miami prior to the start of the 2022 MLS season, showcasing a remarkable debut by participating in every match of his inaugural regular season. Over the course of his tenure, the defender accumulated more than 60 appearances for the team across various competitions, contributing with one goal and one assist. Notably, McVey played a role in the team's success in the 2023 Leagues Cup, making three appearances and playing a pivotal role in securing the historic first title for the club.
